Galloping the Globe (Gr. K-4)
This geography based curriculum can be used from 1-3 years and is an excellent reference resource as well. Organized by continent and incorporating the student notebook approach, it integrates these 8 categories of learning activities: basic geography, people/history, literature, vocabulary, science, music & art, Bible, and internet sources. Considering God's Creation (see Science section) is recommended - a perfect fit for the program. Also, the Usborne Famous Lives (below) is used throughout. This is a wonderful introduction to world geography using a tried and true method of learning.

Beyond Five in a Row (Ages 8-12)
The natural continuation after Five In A Row for 8-12-year-olds. Using "chapter books" as the springboard to help children fall in love with learning, you'll find creative lesson plans designed to explore two fiction and two non-fiction books each semester. Filled with lessons on history and geography, science, language arts, the fine arts, and issues of human relationships, it also provides opportunities to explore a variety of career paths, Internet connections for additional study, extensive essay writing experience and much more.

History of the Horse (Beautiful Feet)
A literature approach to Equine history that begins with the Godolphin Arab (1700s) and continues through the early 1900s. The course uses the Marguerite Henry award-winning books, Walter Farley's Black Stallion, and Anna Sewell's Black Beauty. Grades 3-7.

Healthy Foods
An Irreverent Guide to Understanding Nutrition and Feeding Your Family Well The Healthy Foods... Book provides instruction and information on nutrition besides all the recipes. The Unit Studies were created to help children take an active role in understanding nutrition with lots of hands-on activities and questions to ponder.

Patchwork Primers
An old fashioned style of teaching in which students focus on the basics of reading, writing, and arithmetic. History is taught in story form, science is taught by observing nature and life. It incorporates the best of several educational schools of thought. From Charlotte Mason - the joys of nature notebooks and learning history through living books, from the classical method - the value of tying studies to time periods in history, combined in a unit study that includes math, language, American history, spelling, literature, Bible, science, music, art, and physical education. It is practical, using mostly items you already own. It is well planned and complete, even including math, history, and science tests. (Though math is included, it will be easier for most families to use a math curriculum to ensure each child is appropriately challenged). Each volume covers one year and is broken into six week units. Volume 1 is designed for 2-4th grades and Volume 2 for 3rd-5th grades, though both can be easily adapted for younger or older children.

Botany Unit Study
A botany course that is both enjoyable and educational for ages 12 & up; an excellent one-semester course for high school. We hear high praises for this one! Van Cleave's Plants (below) is needed.
